Solo Exhibition: “JOURNEY TO THE DESERT” ~ 17 Paintings in Oil
Artist Julia Buckwalter invites viewers on a journey through rocky canyons and under cloud-filled skies. With her vivid large scale paintings in oil on canvas, Buckwalter follows Powell’s expedition from the Green river to the Confluence with the Colorado, climbing the mesas of Canyonlands to explore wide open horizons and timeless desert landscapes and scenes from the region.
“My travels in the desert have always evoked a sense of spiritual questing, a return to soul that many who live here remain spellbound by. These paintings are an expression of that longing and returning.”
